Last night we had a “Black & White” party to celebrate the ending of another school year. It was a pot luck and families provided dishes from around the world. Many included the recipes so if you liked something, you could take the recipe home. With the many countries represented in our community, we sampled much exotic gourmet cuisine. From paella from Spain, to Venezuelan arepas, to Peruvian Papas Huancaina, to watermelon from Iowa, everyone ate too much. Our community was looking their best and people stayed well into the night laughing and talking. Grade 11 student Katheren gave a nice speech about me and my family – thank you for the kind words!
